You can submit an online link or a DVD.
If you are submitting a link, our preferred sites are YouTube and Vimeo. If your link is somewhere else, please adhere to the following -
DO NOT submit links that have to be downloaded e.g. QT, Windows Media.
DO NOT submit links that stop to render.
DO NOT submit links to a website if it does not take us directly to the trailer.
DO NOT submit links that show an advertisement first.
If you submit a link, it will be pasted into our Reviewers' Room and watched by nine reviewers. Their only criteria is 'do you want to see more of this?' If three reviewers vote 'yes' we consider this film has an audience and the trailer will be selected. Trailers with two 'yes' votes and a number of 'maybes' will be given further consideration.
If you submit a DVD it will be mailed to three reviewers; if one gives it a 'yes' the Festival Director decides if it will be selected.
There is a limit to the number of trailers that will be screened at the event but not to the numbers that will be included on the DVD, which will be marketed for a year. Therefore when trailers are given three 'yes' votes the filmmakers are informed they have been successful and their details posted on the website (see Festival Selections page).
All projects that do not have distribution are eligible.
You keep all rights to your project.
As this is a private screening we will screen trailers that do not have the rights to music, footage etc.
We accept trailers of any length but if your trailer gets selected and it is over 2.30 minutes long, we will ask you to cut a shorter version.
FEATURES AND DOCUMENTARIES
It does not matter when you produced your trailer or what genre it is. As long as it does not have US distribution, it is eligible.
SHORTS SCRIPTS Up to November 31, 2009, $25 Up to February 28, 2010, $30 Up to March 30, $35 Up to April 30, $40
If your short is under three minutes, we will show it all. A distributor for iTunes plus a number of European TV networks that screen shorts 24/7 have agreed to participate.
TELEVISION
We accept trailers for thirty and sixty minute TV pilots. We do not accept trailers for existing shows.
REALITY & GAME SHOWS
Many production companies who have previously only been looking for scripted shows are now looking for reality. It is presently the most sought after genre.
WEBISODES
We accept webisodes if they are pilots for a longer format. If your Webisode is three minutes or less, we will show it all. If it's longer you will need to cut a trailer.
We accept the first act of screenplays, pilots for TV shows and spec scripts. We also accept one page treatments.
As with trailers, we are not limiting the number of finalists. If your script gets high enough points, we will request the rest of the script. If it's as good as we thought it was going to be, we will include the title and synopsis in our Event Program and circulate the script to the appropriate industry executives.
Please note the date of the festival has been changed to June 10, 2010, to avoid clashing with the end of pilot season. The deadlines dates have been changed and are now as follows -
